Damien Craycraft drafted the original design for the Veterans in the Brotherhood logo
A year after the creation of Veterans in the Brotherhood, the group has a logo of its own. Logos carry meaning, serving as symbols for what we believe in, and how we identify ourselves.
Dale Dvorak, founder of Veterans in the Brotherhood, asked members to propose ideas for their logo. 3rd year apprentice and Local 1503 member, Damien Craycraft proposed the concept of a Jolly Roger-esque design, trading out the crossbones for a rifle and hammer. He also suggested the dual helmets, which added significance to the design by tying in the history of those who had served to their current occupation.
Craycroft says the camaraderie he has found in the brotherhood has been significant–likening it to the brotherhood he had in the military. “It’s nice to know there are people looking out for you and that they have your back.
