Stewards

As leaders in the construction industry, we take a stand for our members and work with contract partners to maintain safe job sites, open communication and finish jobs on-time and on-budget. Stewards are critical to job site leadership and project management for the benefit of the job site and the members at work. Stewards are members’ job site contact for information about safety, problems on the job and information from the Regional Council.

Stewards also meet regularly off the job site to network with other Stewards about job site issues, events and issues, political endorsements, voter registration and mobilization efforts. Information about PNWRCC activity and efforts will be shared for you to bring to your job site. Stewards are critical to keeping our membership engaged, informed and working together for the benefit of Carpenters and all workers.

Are you looking to step into leadership and mentor members on your job site? We need energetic and innovative members to help their fellow members and keep job sites working. The PNWRCC provides training and opportunity for leadership and career growth through Steward training. You’ll learn about job site safety, state regulations, rules on wages and proper sub-contracting as well as union rules, by-laws and activity.

Did You Know?

Carpenters skills and training go beyond the job site.

The Journeyman Leadership Program is a three day program geared towards developing the strong qualities of members on the job and in their lives – leadership, communication, mentoring and collective action. Members learn where the UBC came from and where its headed, and, importantly, how to lead it. Learn More
