2020 PNCI Graduation

Virtual event honors our newest PNCI journey-level members

In the spirit of honoring apprentices who have successfully achieved journey-level status in 2020, the Pacific Northwest Carpenters Institute (PNCI) implemented a webinar graduation event.

Sixty-two PNCI graduates were honored for their accomplishment at the event, and more than 105 attended the webinar to cheer them on. Be sure to tip your hardhat to these proud new journey-level members when you see them on the job.

The Industry Outreach Honors Ceremony began with congratulations from Mike Hawes, Executive Director of PNCI, and Lisa Ransom, Director of Apprenticeship for Oregon Bureau of Labor & Industries (BOLI). It ended with a fantastic tool raffle hosted by Assistant Training Director Miguel Montaño. One of the highlights of the event was the announcement of Apprentices of the Year in various trades and training facilities.

Celebrating Apprentices of the Year:

Adriana De Dios, Southern Oregon Carpenter
Cherice Cardwell, Millwright
Colin Tominey, Mid-Valley EIS
Dylan McHargue, Portland Carpenter

PNCI also honored our contractors on the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC), veterans, and retiring activist carpenter Pat Davis. The annual event is funded through the generous donation of contractors, local unions, and suppliers.
