Political Action

The Pacific Northwest Regional Council of Carpenters encourages our members to be active participants in their communities by educating them on political issues and candidates, registering members to vote and supporting efforts to engage in the electoral process. We encourage members to be active participants both during and after the election. Members attend government meetings and public hearings and sit on commissions and boards across our states to work with leaders on member issues.

Did You Know?

PNWRCC has many women in our crafts and leadership positions.

Margaret Ellings became the first woman initiated into the United Brotherhood of Carpenters in October 1935. The establishment of a women’s committee within the United Brotherhood of Carpenters is one of the most important developments in the union’s recent history. Visit ubcsisters.org
