Doug Tweedy- Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Pacific Northwest Regional Council of Carpenters Retires

Kent, Washington- July 31, 2018

Doug Tweedy, head of the Pacific Northwest Regional Council of Carpenters has announced he will be retiring effective immediately.

Mr. Tweedy has spent his entire career in the carpentry field building large energy and infrastructure projects throughout the western United States. He first ran for his current position in 2004 where he ran against the incumbent. He has since been re-elected three more times and is now retiring in the middle of his fourth term having served 14 years as Executive Secretary-Treasurer. Throughout his tenure, Doug Tweedy has been an agent for positive change, and a respected leader in the building trades.

When asked, Doug stated, “I’ve been in this position for fourteen years, and have accomplished what I felt I needed to do, so it is simply time for me to step aside and hand things over to the next generation.”

Headquartered in Kent, Washington the Pacific Northwest Regional Council of Carpenters represents over 23,000 carpenters throughout the Northwest including Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and Alaska.
